Great Week!

Oh wow has it ever been a busy week boys and girls. I've been doing my online training for Joey Tomatoes to learn the menu which looks absolutely delicious by the way. AND lots of updates...here goes...

I got my 3rd tattoo this week at Strangeworld Tattoos here in NW Calgary by a wicked artist named Rick. It's of a compass with the quote "Sail away from the safe harbor" which basically sums up my life. The quote is from a longer quote that basically says to take chances now, live without regrets and discover what is out there which is exactly what I am trying to do.

After my tattoo I went to see a travel agent and I am officially booked for Australia!!

I will be flying out of the Calgary airport at noon on September 13th and arriving in Brisbane Australia on September 15th at 6:10am. I could not be more excited and I got a wicked deal too. Going to be doing some traveling with my girl Emily and her family when I get there. Then in October have some friends coming to meet me in Bris where we will start traveling and surfing the coast. Could not be more excited to have friends on this journey.

Went to work with dad this week for a couple days at the Calgary Boys and Girls Club. Did a lot of little tasks like data entry, filing and counting receipts which gave me a new found appreciation for accountants but also made me realize I could NEVER do that for a living. Either way it was great to get to work with dad and meet his co-workers and it was also great to make some extra money.

Taking my Nana for lunch today, getting used to Calgary driving finally. No big plans this weekend for the long weekend. Maybe just some shopping, tanning and visiting with family friends. I genuinely miss everyone in Ontario :( It's crazy to think I have about a month left in Canada but its even crazier to think I'm gonna be able to see some friends I thought I wouldn't for over a year in a couple months on the other side of the world. SO stoked.

Saw the movie Friends With Benefits.. SO good. Definitely go see it. ha. Don't want to ruin any of it so just take my word and see it. That's all for now babydolls! stay tuned...

Famjam

Last night was our family dinner at dads which was awesome. Uncle John, Aunt Margot, Cassie and her husband Craig, Vanessa and Stewart all came up from California and I hadn't seen them in forever so it was great to catch up with them. Nana came with them as well. Aunty Jane and Uncle Harvery, Denise, Brooke, Anthony (aka Justin Bieber) and their baby Serena, Anthony (so you think you can dance), and dad's childhood friend Lorne came down. Packed house and great times. Still in a food coma from the burgers (chicken for me), salad, pasta salad, cheese and crackers, nanaimo bars, and aunty Jane's home mad pie. SO GOOD. Uncle Harvey melts cheddar cheese on his pie which was by far the weirdest thing I saw but he loved it....oh and might I add ate it off my Justin Bieber party plates and napkins hahah.

Got to go for a drive around the block in cousin Anthony's sweet ass convertible something or other. Yes I do not know cars but it looked bad ass and has put him in debt so you get the idea. Stayed up chatting Australian plans with daddy and realizing how close this is becoming. My dad also for the first time told me how amazing he thinks this is and how much fun he thinks I'm going to have.

Going to hit the gym today---trying to strength train a little more for surfing in Australia so I don't drown on my first attempt. The GoodLife out here is amazing with the best equipment ever. Been watching some awesome stuff with my man Dr. Oz each day learning the ropes of what to buy organic lol.

Been on a prison-escape movie kick lately too since I don't start work at Joey Tomatoes until August 2nd. Watched Cool Hand Luke with dad the other night and realized how bad ass and awesome Paul Newman really is. Any man that can eat 50 hard boiled eggs in under an hour deserves some recognition, come on. Stewpendous ate a pheasant egg at the Dorchester Rodeo which was just one but I guess deserves a slow clap for eating something bizarre and the fact that it was fed to him out of a random jar I guess takes courage. Stewy recommended I watch The Rock which dad confirmed is one of the best movies ever so it's on the list! I watched Escape from Alcatraz yesterday with sexy Clint Eastwood just boss-in it up getting out of prison. Great flick.

Anyways, today the Californians are off to Salmonarm BC so we're going to say our goodbyes and then dad is gonna come with me to the gym and use his "3 day pass" which should be interesting to see if he can walk out of the gym without either a) signing a contract for a one year membership or b) selling his soul to GoodLife. haha. then we might go to a movie since it's going to be overcast here today. Heard all about the Ontarians bitching and moaning about the humidity and YES I feel for you guys because I heard its hot as hell out there but here its breezy, nice and perfect. No bigs. Shoutout to my girl Annie Herron today for her birthday celebrations--wish I could be there to get day drunk with ya girl.

I shall update soon...perhaps after my TATTOO appointment on Tues...that's all yer gettin folks til at least TUES

In Calgary so far...

Hey everyone,

First of all the picture here is my mom and I and the wonderful cake she got me at my bbq that had pics of Australia all over. SO good and so nice. thanks mommy!
I have been in Calgary for about 5 days now and it's been great! Arrived on Thursday night with Ollie and came back to dad's place. Friday we were the most motivated ever, I went to the GoodLife here in Calgary, we got my banking sorted out, did errands, inquired about health insurance, got me a key to the house--lots to do! Saturday was more errands and enjoying the beautiful weather out here and had dinner at a place called Schanks which was delicious.

Sunday was the rodeo finals at the Calgary Stampede which was absolutely amazing!! We got to see 2 rounds of roping, steer wrestling, bareback, saddlebronc, barrel racing and bull riding. It was so cool to see it live. We were there from about 1:30-5, sitting in the stands drinking beer and enjoying the show. After we walked around and saw some of the craziest food ever: pizza on a stick, a burger with donuts instead of buns, deep fried oreos! It was nuts. I opted for the safe bet and went with a chicken gyro but my brother did the donut burger and it looked nasty. haha.

Had a job interview at Joey Tomatoes on Monday and got it! Unfortunately I wouldn't be starting until Aug 2 which I realize is not that far away but I was really hoping for something more immediate. Still looking but accepted the job and am excited to be making tips again. Got running again out here and it was awesome. First run out here was a little tough, could be from my month long bender but still made it 7km in the sun. Tuesday I tanned in the backyard and called the tattoo place I'm thinking of paying a visit to and then went to GoodLife again. The movers arrived with my stuff as well so I'm finally here! just need to unpack...ughhhhh.....Dad made some incredible steaks and we indulged in red wine. Got dentist and eye appointments this week--not too exciting BUT my family from California is up and we're having a family dinner tomorrow which will be nice. Busy stuff out here but it's been great. Bringing me closer and closer to Australia.

Best Weekend

I want to start this post by thanking everyone who came to my bbq on Saturday. It was amazing! I had an absolute blast and felt truly loved to see all my good friends, neighbours and family come out to say goodbye to me. My friends from out of town came in which was awesome as well as my close friends here in town were all able to make an appearance.

Spent the day on Sunday swimming at Stewy's with the waterloo folk and wrapped up the weekend with some forty creek at Stews. Tonight watched the bachelorette with mom which was great. Gotta keep watching to get ideas for when I am on the Bachelor. For those of you who don't know--I did in fact apply to be on the next Bachelor!! I really really hope I get on hahaa. I am currently rooting for JP to win even though I completely dislike the Bachelorette Ashley. I originally wanted Blake or Mickey to win and hope they will be the next Bachelor's as I would take either!
my 2 besties stewy and little (this was from rodeo weekend a few weeks ago)

Starting to get sad about leaving Ontario. The reality of it is really starting to sink in. I got some incredible news today and have the next 3 days planned for fun activities and time with friends and mom. Tomorrow I am going to see the Black Keys in concert with Stewy and the Ferries. Really looking forward to it as I love this band ad haven't been to a concert in a long time. Wednesday gonna spend some time with mom and potentially go to the beach if it's nice. Thursday will be mainly saying goodbyes and packing up the rest of my life.

Still hard to believe I am going to be living in Calgary in a few days. My journey will begin soon enough. No regrets yet but Thursday will be a very hard day. Stewy, Little, my mom and I will be going to the airport around 5:30 or 6 and I'll be flying at 7:30pm. I would like to keep my cool and say goodbye and have it be just that, but I am pretty confident I will cry my eyes out. Gonna miss everyone here. I will try and post again before I take off but it's going ot be a busy next few days...

Last day at GoodLife

Okay so today is officially my last day at GoodLife Fitness Home Office. I can't believe in 6 days I will be moving out west to live with my dad and brother--so crazy and so exciting!! I cannot wait! I am going to miss my fellow member experience associates but I am definitely looking forward to moving on to bigger and better things. I am going to try and not be the laziest person in the office today but no promises.

Starting the blog...

I have decided an easy way for my friends and family to follow me along on my journey out west and to Australia would be to set up a blog. Step 1 complete. Now I just have to figure out how they can view this thing! Technology is #winning right now...stay tuned, perhaps I can figure this one out
